Caribbean Premier League

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is known for its energetic atmosphere, enthusiastic crowd and West Indian touch. The CPL combines cricket with festivities, which makes it different from any other fair. And the 2025 season is planned with exciting cricket matches with the biggest T20 stars from around the world.

The tournament has already started from August 15, 2025 to September 30, 2025 in various Caribbean islands. These include Trinidad, Guyana, Barbados, St. Lucia, Jamaica and St. Kitts. With its six competing franchises, the CPL 2025 will see 34 matches being played.

CPL 2025: Tournament Format

This year’s CPL has retained the typical round-robin and knockout format:

  • League stage: Each team plays the other teams twice (home and away).
  • Playoffs: Top 4 teams qualify.
  • Semi-finals and final: Top two teams will face each other in Semi-final 1, while the third and fourth placed teams will face each other in Semi-final 2. The winners will face each other in the Grand Finale.
  • Total matches: 34

This format features many exciting matches, with each game playing a vital role in the race for the title.

CPL 2025 Teams and Squads

Six franchises will participate in the CPL 2025 season:

  1. Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR)
  2. Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW)
  3. Jamaica Tallawahs (JT)
  4. Barbados Royals (BR)
  5. St. Lucia Kings (SLK)
  6. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP)

Each team has a mix of Caribbean players and international players. Here are the key players to watch:

  • Trinbago Knight Riders: Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran
  • Guyana Amazon Warriors: Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Imran Tahir, Shai Hope
  • Jamaica Tallawahs: Brandon King, Rovman Powell, Fabian Allen, Chris Green
  • Barbados Royals: Jason Holder, Kyle Meyers, Rahkeem Cornwall, Quinton de Kock
  • St. Lucia Kings: Alzarri Joseph, Faf du Plessis, Sikandar Raza, Johnson Charles

  • Final: September 30, Providence Stadium, Guyana

CPL 2025 Venues

One of the unique aspects of the CPL is its multinational hosting model, which showcases the beauty and culture of the Caribbean islands. Matches will be played at the following venues:

  • Darren Sammy Stadium, St. Lucia

The final stage, which also includes the playoffs, will be held at Providence Stadium in Guyana. It has become a favorite venue due to its lively crowd and star-studded atmosphere.
