LSG Innings – 146 All Out (20 Overs)

RCB win the toss and decide to bowl first. Their bowlers make this decision brilliant from the very beginning. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood are tight with the ball from the very beginning. They bowl a lot of dot balls and make it very difficult for LSG to score freely.

Then something big happens. LSG captain Rishabh Pant is hit on the left elbow by a sharp ball from Hazlewood. The ball hurts him a lot and he has to leave the field. He retires hurt after scoring just 1 run in 6 balls. This completely shakes LSG. At this point they are at 33/1 and are already in trouble.

Aiden Markram falls early for 12 runs. He tries to bowl a low full toss to Rasik Salam but can only get a leading edge over the cover fielder. LSG are now struggling at 35/1 after 6 overs. This is his lowest powerplay total of the entire IPL 2026 season.

Nicholas Pooran comes in but he has had a bad day. After the powerplay, Hazlewood bowls him clean in the very first over and scores just 1 run. His form is a big concern for LSG.

Mitchell Marsh is the only batsman who fights properly. He bowls the ball clean, hits a powerful six over mid-wicket and scores 40 runs in 32 balls. But Krunal Pandya bowls a fast ball and dismisses him at 71/3 in the 10th over. Krunal also dismisses Abdul Samad on the very second ball. This is a double wicket over for Krunal. And it is also a special moment because this wicket is Krunal Pandya’s 100th IPL wicket. Chinnaswamy fans are very excited!

Ayush Badoni and Mukul Chaudhary try to repair the damage. Badoni scored 38 off 24 balls and Chaudhary scored 39 off 28 balls. They hit some nice boundaries but the pressure is too much. Rasik Salam keeps coming back and taking wickets. He dismisses Badoni in the middle overs and then comes back to dismiss both Chaudhary and Avesh Khan in the last over.

Rishabh Pant comes out to bat bravely in the 16th over. But Phil Salt takes a brilliant running catch of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and sends him back for just 1 run. A very sad end to Pant’s evening.

Bhuvneshwar also bowled a perfect yorker to dismiss Mohammed Shami. LSG were all out for 146. This is the lowest score by any team batting in all 20 overs in IPL 2026. Rasik Salam took 4 wickets for 24 runs. Bhuvneshwar took 3 wickets for 27 runs. Krunal took 2 wickets for 38 runs. This is a brilliant bowling effort from RCB.

RCB Chase – 149/5 in 15.1 Overs

RCB need 147 runs to win. Their target looks very achievable, especially on this Chinnaswamy pitch.

Phil Salt comes in to open but is out early. Prince Yadav dismisses him for just 7 runs in the second over. LSG now have some hope.

But then Virat Kohli comes in as an impact substitute. That changes everything. Kohli doesn’t waste a single ball. He hits six fours and a six in his first 14 balls. By the end of the powerplay, he has scored 40 runs in just 20 balls. RCB are 60/1 after six overs. The game is basically over.

Devdutt Padikkal put on a good partnership with Kohli and they added 57 runs for the second wicket in just 24 balls. It’s a brilliant partnership that completely ruins LSG’s bowling plans. Padikkal is out for 10 runs at 66/2.

Kohli steps up and reaches 49. He hits a big shot to complete his fifty but is holed out at long-on off Avesh Khan. He falls one run short of fifty. But by then, RCB need less than 60 runs and have 8 overs to spare. The game is already won.

Rajat Patidare comes in and scores 27 runs off just 13 balls with 3 sixes. Jitesh Sharma scores 23 runs off just 9 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Prince Yadav gets both out in an over but it is too late for LSG. RCB are in complete control.

Tim David and Romario Shepherd finish the job quietly. They take RCB to 149/5 in just 15.1 overs. RCB win by 5 wickets with 29 balls to spare. A very easy chase at the end.

Key Highlights – RCB vs LSG IPL 2026 Match 23

Rasik Salam’s career-best 4/24 wins the match for RCB. The young fast bowler is truly outstanding. He bowls 13 dot balls in his 4-over spell and takes the wickets of Markram, Badoni, Chaudhary and Avesh Khan. He makes full use of his variation and his yorkers are lethal. This is the best ball he has bowled in an IPL match so far. At this rate, Rasik is becoming RCB’s most dangerous weapon this season.

Josh Hazlewood gets the Player of the Match. He takes only 1 wicket but his economy of 5.00 in 4 overs is gold. He also creates pressure from both ends so that Rasik and Bhuvneshwar can attack as they please. Hazlewood also bowls balls that hurt Pant and change the entire course of the match. Sometimes the numbers don’t tell the whole story, and this is one of those times.

Virat Kohli’s 49 off 34 balls is a chase-defining innings. He comes in as an impact substitute and directly attacks the LSG bowlers on the ground. By the time the powerplay ends, he has done half the job. He falls one run short of fifty but leaves RCB in a position where victory is a mere formality.

Krunal Pandya takes his 100th IPL wicket. He dismisses Mitchell Marsh and Abdul Samad in the same over. And Marsh’s wicket becomes a historic moment. 100 IPL wickets is a great milestone and the Chinnaswamy crowd is giving him a wonderful welcome.

Rishabh Pant‘s injury is a big concern for LSG. He injured his left elbow with a Hazlewood ball and had to leave the field. He bravely returned to bat later but could only manage 1. LSG now need to wait and see how serious his injury is before making any further plans.

RCB remained unbeaten at home in IPL 2026. They have won three matches against Chinnaswamy this season – SRH, CSK and now against LSG. Their home record is excellent. The crowd supports them in every game and the team uses that energy.

LSG made the lowest team score of IPL 2026. 146 all out in 20 overs is lower than the average score at any ground, but especially at Chinnaswamy where teams regularly score 180 or more. This shows how good RCB’s bowling is.

Impact Substitutes – RCB vs LSG Match 23

Team Player Out Player In Over
RCB Suyash Sharma Virat Kohli After 19.6 (LSG innings)
LSG Ayush Badoni George Linde After 15.5 (LSG innings)

Kohli’s impact substitute arrival completely turns the chase around. He scores 49 and the result is never in doubt after the powerplay.

Points Table Update – After IPL 2026 Match 23

Team Matches Wins Losses Points Position
Royal Challengers Bengaluru 5 4 1 8 1st
Rajasthan Royals 5 4 1 8 2nd (NRR)
Lucknow Super Giants 5 2 3 4 7th

RCB reclaim the number one spot from Rajasthan Royals on the basis of a better net run rate. This is a very positive sign for RCB fans heading into the rest of the tournament.

Cricbites Match Analysis

This is RCB’s best performance this season. They don’t just win. They win in style. Their bowlers work hard first, then their batsmen finish the job quickly and effectively. Chinnaswamy has started looking like a fortress for RCB this year.

LSG doesn’t miss Pant much. Without their captain keeping wickets and anchoring the innings, the batting falls apart very quickly. Even 146 runs are not enough on this ground. If Pant is fit, LSG will be a different team. If he misses that time, their season becomes very difficult.

Rasikh Salam is a name that every cricket fan should remember. He is young, skilled and keeps getting better with every match. RCB’s pace bowling trio of Rasikh, Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar is one of the best in this year’s IPL.
