Scoring 200 runs in T20Is was a big deal. It happens quite often these days, but only a few teams manage to do it on a regular basis. Some teams turn these big scores into assured victories, while others find a way to lose even after scoring big numbers.

1. India (52 times)

India dominates the list. The two-time T20 World Cup champions have scored 200 or more runs in T20I matches, an astonishing 52 times. Of these, they have lost only six matches after scoring 200 or more runs in T20I and won 38 times.

India’s highest score is 297/6, which came against Bangladesh in 2024. Their highest successful chase is 211. India came close to chasing a target of 246 at one point, losing to West Indies by just one run in 2016.

2. South Africa (29 times)

South Africa have scored 200 or more in T20 Internationals on 29 occasions. They have won 10 games and lost nine times.

South Africa’s highest score in T20Is is 259/4, which came against West Indies in March 2023, which is also the highest successful chase amongst the full-member teams.

3. Australia (25 times)

The 2021 T20 World Cup champions have scored 200+ runs in T20 Internationals 25 times. They have won 20 of those matches, lost five and drawn one. Their highest score is a mammoth 263/3 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2016.

They have also successfully chased 240+ runs against New Zealand, while their only match after scoring 200+ runs was against the Kiwis in 2010.

4. New Zealand (28 times)

The Black Caps, who played their first T20I match in 2005, have scored 28 scores of 200+ runs.

They have won 20 times and lost six times. Their highest score was 254/5 against Scotland in July 2022. They have also lost after scoring 200+ runs, once against India and South Africa and twice against Australia.

5. England (25 times)

England has achieved this 25 times, resulting in 18 wins and 6 losses.They absolutely went off against South Africa in 2025, posting a massive, historic 304/2. They also don’t sweat big chases, successfully tracking down totals of 220 or more three separate times.

6. West Indies (24 times)

The two-time T20 World Champions love to clean up and have scored 200 or more runs 24 times.

They have won 12 matches after scoring 200 or more runs and lost 12 times. Their T20I score is 258/5 against South Africa, and they have won twice while chasing 200 or more runs.

7. Pakistan (18 times)

Pakistan, who have scored 200 or more runs 18 times, have won 16 of those matches.

Their highest score is 232/6, which came against England in 2021. They also run very dangerous chases, having chased 200 or more runs four times, including an impressive 10-wicket win.

8. Sri Lanka (13 times)

The 2014 T20 World Cup champions have crossed the 200-run mark 13 times so far.

Their personal best score is 260/6 against Kenya in the 2007 World Cup, which actually holds the world record for a long time. They have won nine times after scoring 200 or more runs, but they have also lost four matches.

9. Zimbabwe (13 times)

Zimbabwe have scored 200 or more runs in T20Is 13 times, including 11 wins and just two losses.

They also hold the ultimate world record for the highest team score in T20I cricket history. Their impressive 344/4 against Gambia in Nairobi in October 2024.

10. Austria (12 times)

They only made their debut in T20 International cricket in 2019, but have already crossed the 200-run mark 12 times.

They have a 100% winning record whenever they score 200 or more runs. Their highest score is 245/7, which they made against Luxembourg in July 2025.
