Pratika Rawal Joins Warwickshire for 2026 One Day Cup Campaign

Indian batsman Pratika Rawal has joined the Warwickshire women’s team for the remainder of the 2026 domestic season, with the 25-year-old brought in to add strength to the county team’s batting order in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. Rawal could be selected for Warwickshire’s next One-Day Cup game on August 19, as the Bears continue their fight to reach the tournament’s eliminator.

Rawal Back in Action After Injury

The move will see Rawal return to competitive cricket as she recovers from a knee injury that ruled her out of India’s only Test against England at Lord’s. She sustained the injury while playing for India A in Taunton on July 1, requiring stitches and ruling her out of the historic Test.

Warwickshire are currently fifth in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup table and need to finish in the top three to reach the knockout stages. The club expects Rawal to add strength to the top of the batting order as they enter the final stages of the competition.

The club welcomed the India opener and said his arrival would give the team a boost as they look to end the season on a high. “This is a great sign for the team, and we are delighted to welcome Pratika to Edgbaston. We are currently in a good position in the One-Day Cup table, and bringing in a player of Pratika’s calibre can strengthen our squad as we look to end the season on a positive note,” the club said in a statement.

Excited for County Cricket

Rawal is also looking forward to getting her first taste of county cricket and playing for Warwickshire at one of England’s most famous cricket grounds. “I’m delighted to be joining Warwickshire; I’ve heard so many positive things about the club and I’m excited to do everything I can to help the team. It will be a great experience for me to test myself by playing for England, and I’m also looking forward to playing at Edgbaston, which is a very prestigious ground in world cricket,” she said.

Since making her international debut in late 2024, Rawal has scored 1,189 runs in 26 matches at a brilliant average of 47.56, cementing her place as a premier 50-over opener. This excellent 50-over pedigree makes her a huge success for Warwickshire, who have selected the young opener to lead their batting line-up for the upcoming 2026 Royal London One Day Cup.
