The Indian Premier League (IPL) has become the world’s biggest sporting craze. And why wouldn’t it be? Because it combines entertainment with top-notch cricket. The 2025 season of IPL promises to be even more exciting, with world-class matches and great venues for almost two months.
The 2025 IPL began on March 22 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With a blockbuster match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The tournament lasted until June 3, and the final was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 10 franchises participated in 70 league matches followed by playoffs.
In this blog, we will see all the details about the 2025 IPL.
The structure of IPL 2025 followed the same format as previous years. The 10 teams were divided into two groups. However, the fixtures were designed in such a way that each team would play 14 league matches (7 home and 7 away).
The teams that finished in the top four of the points table advanced to the playoffs. The first and second-placed teams faced each other in Qualifier 1, while the third and fourth-placed teams played the Eliminator. The winner of the Eliminator played the losing team in Qualifier 2, and the winners of Qualifiers 1 and 2 played each other in the final.
