Most T20I innings end between 140 and 190 runs, as the 120-ball limit doesn’t leave much room for big scores. To surpass this benchmark requires flawless execution and a relentless scoring rate from the very first ball.
These seven highest team totals in history completely defy these baseline physics. In a strange statistical anomaly, a powerhouse nation scored three of these big scores in a single seven-day period.
The remaining four records belong to associate teams who have rewritten the cricket record books forever by exploiting ideal batting conditions. Here are the seven highest team totals in women’s T20I cricket ever.

Argentina women’s team broke the T20 International record by scoring 427 for one wicket against Chile in Buenos Aires. Lucia Taylor and Albertina Gala scored centuries, with Taylor making 169 and Gala making 145 not out.
The pair put on a 350-run partnership for the first wicket in 16.5 overs, the record partnership for any wicket in men’s or women’s T20Is. Argentina became the first team in men’s or women’s cricket to score more than 400 runs in a T20I match. Chile were bowled out for 63 and lost by 364 runs. No number on this list has come close to being threatened since.
Two days after 427, the same Argentine team did it again. Maria Castineiras scored an unbeaten 155 off 77 balls with 26 fours and Veronica Vazquez remained unbeaten on 107 off 67 balls.
Chile, who had fielded a young and largely inexperienced team throughout the series, were bowled out for just 22 runs in 10.4 overs. Argentina won by 311 runs. The visitors suffered three crushing defeats in three consecutive days in the three-match series between Argentina and Chile, three of the four biggest defeats by runs in men’s or women’s T20I history.
Before Argentina rewrote the record books, everyone was looking at this score. The previous record total was 318-1 by Bahrain women against Saudi Arabia in March 2022. Deepika Rasangika scored an unbeaten 161 off 66 balls, which included 31 fours, while Tharanga Gajanayake scored an unbeaten 94 off 56 balls.
Saudi Arabia could only manage 49/8 in 20 overs at Al Amarat. Bahrain won the Gulf Cooperation Council match by 269 runs, which for a while remained the highest score in women’s T20I history, until Argentina reached it eighteen months later.
This came to light at the Kibuka Women’s Twenty20 tournament in Rwanda, a competition that has quietly produced several entries on such lists. Proskovia Alako scored 116 off 71 balls and Rita Musamali scored an unbeaten 103 off 61 balls as Uganda posted a score of 314/2.
Mali had no answer. They were all out for just 10 runs in 11.1 overs, allowing Uganda to win by 304 runs. The gap in experience between the East African Associate teams in 2019 produced some of the most unequal scorecards seen in the format.
Here is the middle of Argentina’s three-match defeat to Chile. Maria Castinras once again scored 105 runs off 56 balls in the opening defeat, including 13 fours and a six, while Alisson Stokes scored 48 runs off 33 balls. Batting first, Argentina posted a score of 300/6.
Chile were bowled out for just 19 runs in 9.2 overs, their lowest score of the series, and lost by 281 runs. In response to the hosts’ 300-plus scores on each occasion, the inexperienced Chile scored more than 100 runs in all three innings of the series.
Two days after Uganda’s 314, Tanzania used the same theme in the Kibuka tournament in Rwanda. Fatuma Kibasu scored an unbeaten 108 off 71 balls, including eight fours, while Nima Payes scored 65 off 47 balls.
Tanzania declared their innings effectively at 285/1. Mali were bowled out for 17 in 12.5 overs, giving Tanzania a 268-run victory. Mali’s batting throughout the tournament was the most one-sided in T20I history.
The last entry on this list comes from the same GCC Women’s Twenty20 Championship Cup in which Bahrain scored 318 runs. Ayesha scored an unbeaten 113 off 58 balls with 19 fours, and Shahreen Bahadur scored an unbeaten 104 off 61 balls. Qatar ended up on 282/2 against Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis fought a little longer than most teams on this list, batting 18.1 overs, but still managed to score only 26 runs. Qatar won by 256 runs to finish a tournament that produced two of the seven highest totals ever in women’s T20I cricket.
Women’s T20I cricket has grown rapidly at the associate level, and these scorecards are the rawest evidence of how far that growth has not spread before such competitions start to look competitive.
